We’re on the verge of a revolution in automotive technology. Cars are becoming intelligent at a shocking rate, ranging from tools like built-in GPS to syncing up with your phone to offer you better streaming music, to more complex diagnostic tools that will really let you get under the hood of your car. But, of course, those systems generally need to come in pre-installed, and they can be distractions, Exploride wants to smarten up your car and how you use everything about it.
Exploride is a clear display that puts everything you might need from your car directly in your line of sight, and away from any distractions that might cause you look away from the road. That second point is not a minor one; distracted driving causes thousands of accidents every year. More than that, though, Exploride condenses everything down to just one display, while adding more functionality in the process. It links up all the systems you need: GPS, WiFi, OBD, cloud services, satellite and streaming radio, dashcam, and renders them all accessible with voice and gesture. Instead of having to reach for, and worse potentially look at, dials and buttons, or stick your phone to your windshield, everything is now literally at your fingertips.
Yeah, you may not use every single system in the Exploride, although at the very least being able to see your car’s diagnostic codes strikes us as a useful thing. Besides, $299 is a small price to pay to not only give your car a central nervous system, but also make it a safer ride. And, for that matter, ensuring that you can listen to music and skip the boring stuff in peace.
